「You get me!」、
「I got you!」、
「You got me there!」、
「He will get his!」
這四句口語是美國人常掛在嘴邊的慣用語，
它們乍聽起來十分相像，
意思卻大不相同，
若是沒有注意前後文，
常讓人傻傻分不清。

You get me／I get you
你懂我的意思／我瞭解
You get me 就是「你懂我的意思」，
等同 You understand what I'm saying.
另外， 也可以用
I get you來表示「我瞭解／我懂」的意思。
蘇珊：
「我們夫婦倆需要買一間臨近捷運站的公寓。」
Susan：
「My husband and I need to buy
an apartment close to the MRT station.」
房地產經紀人：「我瞭解。」
The real estate agent：「I get you.」
1) You got me／I got you
被你發現了／我發現了
當get改成用過去式got，
you got me或 I got you就會變成
「被你發現了／我發現了」的意思。
這兩句話多半用在比較輕鬆、幽默的情境，
不帶有嚴肅地指責。
有時，也可以譯為「被你得逞了」。
芭比：「你是不是對我說謊了？」
Barbie：「Did you just tell me a lie?」
比爾：「哈，被妳發現了，妳真厲害。」
Bill：「Ha, you got me. You are great.」
2) You got me there!
我不知道、你考倒我了
「我不知道」
除了I don't know, I have no idea,
It beats me，
還可以說You got me there.
意思是你所問的問題把我考倒了。
但要注意這個用語不適合對長輩或上司說喔！
姍蒂：「那是誰的雨傘？」
Sandy：「Whose umbrella is that?」
錢德勒：「我不知道，我以前從沒看過那把傘。」
Chandler：「You got me there.
I've never seen it before.」
3) Get his/hers
他／她應有的報應
前三個例子，
多半牽涉到「理解」或「發現」，
而get his／hers 則是指
「得到他／她應得的報應」。
那個壞蛋，
拿走了能在他母親房裡找到的所有東西，
我相信他不久就會有報應的。
That bad guy got away with everything
he could find in his mother's room.
I believe that he will get
his just deserts before long.
